Global Integrity supports progress towards open and accountable governance in countries and communities around the world. We do this because we believe that open and accountable governance is fundamental to the fight against poverty and corruption, and to progress toward inclusive and sustainable development.
We are looking to appoint two or more new Directors who have the skills, connections, and energy needed to help steer the organization as we implement a cutting-edge strategy which aims to reshape policy and practice on governance and development. We are keen to recruit board members who reflect the global focus of the organization and to strengthen our diversity and gender balance.
In terms of skills and experience, we are particularly interested in recruiting individuals with significant experience of crafting, implementing or advocating for public policies that address issues including governance, corruption and development and/or who have experience and skills relating to management and organizational development, including as regards non-profits. Skills in the following areas would be especially welcome: fundraising and nonprofit finance; monitoring, evaluation and learning; and communications.
Directors will be expected to commit a minimum of 1.5 days of their time per quarter. This is to cover quarterly board meetings (one per year in person if possible, the remainder by tele-conference), committee work, bilateral discussions with the Executive Director, making useful connections and introductions, and championing the work of Global Integrity in appropriate fora. Directors are also expected to help to identify potential funders, make introductions and help to nurture relationships with potential funders.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the work of one of the leading organizations in the open governance space. If you’re passionate about harnessing the potential of data, learning and action for open and accountable governance, and can provide the leadership, oversight and support that we need, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
