We’ve helped activists around the world figure out how to more effectively organise and use fiscal data to help citizens unravel government spending, and to shape the use of public resources.
We worked with the Center for Public Integrity to map the extent of corruption risks in American states, and generate insights into what causes corruption, in order to help state-level reformers figure out how to address those causes, reduce corruption, and improve integrity.
Global Integrity partners launched a sophisticated advocacy campaign that mobilized subnational OGP champions, national OGP steering committee members, and the OGP’s international secretariat, to successfully persuade incoming President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration to reaffirm their commitment to the OGP and its principles.
With Global Integrity’s support, CRECO was able to achieve more effective, organized citizen participation in OGP processes, which resulted in improvements in the delivery of public services in the counties of Elgeyo Marakwet and Makeuni.
We supported officials in the Durango Access to Information Institute (IDAIP) in mapping and opening the data that civil society organizations, academic institutions, and citizens needed to track spending on school uniforms, and helped them facilitate use of that data to develop a process that ensures that procurement decisions respond to the preferences and interests of local stakeholders.
